On by default, matching the feed's normal behavior. Uncheck to suppress ads in this embed only (adds ads=false to the URL) — this can only turn ads off, never force them on for a visitor who's opted out.

Colors and branding aren't set from this embed URL. They're configured inside the Surf app itself — either through that feed's own Personalized Theme Editor (saved server-side, so it applies everywhere the feed appears) or one of Surf's built-in curated palettes for select partner feeds. The one exception is light/dark mode, which you can force below.

Auto leaves the darkMode param off entirely — the feed follows its own normal light/dark behavior (usually your system preference). Force Light/Dark add an explicit override either way, so the difference stays visible even if your system is already dark.

Note: some feeds' saved themes are intentionally one-sided — configured with only a light palette or only a dark one, no counterpart. Surf renders whichever side is configured regardless of this control, so on those feeds Force Light/Dark has no visible effect.
